The Challenge

4i specialises in more complicated installations that traditional installation companies don’t do. We have specialist knowledge not just in fire and security products but the software and networks that they use. We are able to provide custom software and hardware products to achieve an end users needs where traditional products and service providers offer little or no solutions often when an end user has been told what they want to achieve isn’t possible.

We had used external detection for a long time. The existing products in the market either had issues with water ingress, coverage, or a very high cost for limited performance so any external detection we used had a compromise to using it.

Orisec Solution

Woking Hockey club is one of the largest hockey clubs in the country based in the centre of Goldsworth Park in Woking, Surrey. Given the extremely remote location the site had been target for numerous break ins over the years. The site had a monitored intruder alarm with police response but given the remote location the police response times, coupled with the dark site where intruders could easily disappear into the wooded areas resulted in no arrests or prevention of further incidents. Problems further escalated with youths climbing the fence of the pitches and causing damage to expensive equipment and creating anti-social behaviour. The club needed a solution that addressed both these issues.

4i installed a total of 62 XD1-DT’s covering the external of the clubhouse and both internal and external areas of the 2 pitches. This was coupled with 4i’s own in house monitoring station to immediately respond to any activations from the perimeter detection.

Since the site went fully live 6 months ago a total of 11 incidents have been detected and intrusion prevented. The detectors are integrated with the lighting system so that on detection of an intruder, confirmed by 4is operators, the dark site becomes very bright with the integration to the pitch lighting.

Site wide public address has been installed so the potential intruders are aware that they are being watched by us and that action is being taken. The end result is often the intruders decide to leave site without committing any crime.

The end user has the direct benefit of their premises not been broken into, the peace of mind that we are watching the whole site and that the items that are important to them are being protected.
